Recommendation ...
Dear Malfunctioning Computer-Owning or Gear-Desiring Expat:
If you're like me, the idea of taxiing across the city of Beijing
to get your secondary laptop repaired, or contending with the shops
(and keepers) in negotiating for that absurdly large high-def monitor
for which you've long been hankerin' ... well, there are more than
a few other forms of slow torture I would rather endure.
John (also known as
宁嵘) dropped by my apartment, picked up my laptop, returned it two days
later working like new -- at the agreed upon and very reasonable
price.
Then I entrusted him with a wad of RMB, and he handled
the research, acquisition and delivery of a cerebrum-sizzling 28" display
(plus three time-efficient and genuine high-end PC games).
As I write this, he is on the way over with a first-class
wireless Belkin keyboard and four gigs of new ram for Laptop No. 1, plus
some phone wire, speaker wire splitters, and stuff.
I never had to contend with research on Chinese-language websites, pick up a phone, email a
seller, negotiate with a shopkeeper, pile in and out of a taxi,
or any of that sort of fun and festive finagling.
Based on my experience, it's pretty clear that John provides world-class
concierge-style tech support at a fair price. He's highly efficient,
cost-effective in his approach to buyer rep, and 100% trustworthy
(seems like).
I highly recommend John to any similarly impatient, commute-a-phobic and
language-challenged expat (and to others, too).
Sincerely,
Emerson B. |
